I got the idea for this post after taking the photograph seen in the advertisement.
I was raining, and I thought it might be funny to play on the fact that the “To Go” lid is actually a built in umbrella on days like these.
With the sound design, I went with the classic “Singing in the Rain” by Gene Kelly — why fix what’s not broke!
I added some foley to give the motion graphic’s support. The harp scale at the beginning is actually from a Frank Sinatra song called “Moonlight Mood”.
On the post dialog, I wanted to riff off the positive sentiment of 50s movie musicals and give off that feeling that it’s inevitable all will end well, with songs in our hearts and smiles on our faces.
You know… just to take the grey away from the day, and promote positivity.
Besides, how can anyone be upset when eating Ice Cream?
