I was asked to create a motion graphic for use on social media and a flavor card to advertise Cool King’s non-dairy, gluten free Deluxe Chocolate Almond Milk Yogurt.

I used a Bootsy Collins sample in the last post I did for Cool King and it reminded me of how much P-funk (Parliament/Funkadelic) inspired and influenced me when I was younger.

I was drawn to the unique sounds of George Clinton and his cast of funky characters. I think “Atomic Dog” is the song that introduced me to the the sound, but soon the “Mothership Connection” album was on constant rotate in my cassette deck.

For the sound design of this post, I chose the song “Chocolate City” by Parliament (for obvious reasons). With the post text, I wrote it in classic “Clinton” vernacular.

I shot the video of the dessert using an iPhone 13 at 4k/60 fps. Shooting at a higher frame rate gives the imagery a definite different feel.

I drew the graphic elements in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, then edited the video and sound in CapCut.

I also drew a flavor card to showcase the product in the shop.
